The Town of Windsor Forestry Division is set to work with contractors to conduct annual tree removal services during the month of December, weather permitting. This is an annual budgeted program to mitigate the potential safety risks caused by declining tree health.

Four cottonwood trees will be removed in the 400 block of Walnut St., Main Park located 300 Locust St., and Windsor West Park located at 500 10th St. The trees are either dead or declining which means they have exceeded their usefulness and pose a risk to public safety. As part of the town’s tree succession planning efforts, new trees will be planted in place of the ones removed.

Tree removal may have minor traffic impacts in the 400 block of Walnut Street. Motorists are encouraged to watch for signage and drive slowly through work zones.
