Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture is now accepting applications for the 2026 season at the Homestead Community Garden, located at the Historic Halfway Homestead ,335 McNeil Dr. Gardeners of all experience levels are invited to reserve a plot and enjoy growing fresh vegetables, flowers, small fruits and more.
Online registration opens Feb. 6 and will close on March 27. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Community gardening is more than growing food. It’s about connecting with neighbors, learning new skills and enjoying tending your own plot,” said Christine Ginnity, Volunteer and Horticulture Specialist. “We welcome both experienced gardeners and newcomers to join us for a season of growth learning, and community.”
The garden will provide water, drip and micro-spray irrigation, soil, basic tools and seasonal workshops. Plot holders will need to provide their own seeds, plants and supports. There are two types of plots at the homestead: a raised bed, starting at $36 per season and an in-ground bed, starting at $96 per season.
