History, Open Space, and Trails Activities
Participate in History, Open Space, and Trails (HOST) Trail activities for some on-the-go outdoor learning. These free programs give trail users and community members of all ages the opportunity to learn about the nature and history that can be found by exploring Windsor’s open spaces and trails.

Trailhead Trunks
Want to get hands on with nature? Stop by one of our Trailhead Trunks at Eastman Park to chat with a knowledgeable HOST volunteer about the wildlife that can be spotted along the Poudre River and near Eastman Park Pond. Feel the difference between a beaver pelt and coyote fur, touch a real snake skeleton, and even see what cougar scat looks like! Check out the schedule and find Trailhead Trunk events throughout the summer.
Trails to History
Did you ever wonder where Kodak Open Space got its name, or why the #2 Ditch Trail is number two? Windsor’s trails are full of history and provide an exciting way to learn about Windsor’s past while spending time outside in nature. Join experienced HOST Trail Docents on accessible, family-friendly walks along Windsor’s trails while taking a peek into our town’s past. Check out the schedule and register for Trails to History programs. The program is free, but registration is encouraged.
